Mississauga is really several cities for this purpose
Few GTA municipalities vary as much house to house. It is worth knowing which Mississauga you live in, because it largely predicts your install.
The older lakeshore and village cores — Port Credit, Lakeview, Clarkson, Streetsville, Cooksville, Malton. Substantial numbers of pre-1970 homes, more 100-amp services, more detached garages and laneway parking, and the occasional genuine surprise behind the panel cover: an obsolete panel type, aluminum branch wiring, or a service entrance that has had a long life. These are the homes where a proper look before quoting earns its keep.
The 1970s and 1980s middle ring — Erin Mills, Mississauga Valley, Applewood, Rathwood, Central Erin Mills. Mostly attached garages, mostly reasonable cable runs, service capacity that genuinely varies. This is the band where a load calculation most often decides the outcome one way or the other.
The newer north and west — Meadowvale, Churchill Meadows, Lisgar, Streetsville's newer edges, Heartland. Predominantly 200-amp services, attached garages, panels with spare capacity. These are usually clean, quick, and priced at the lower end.
Semis and townhouses with shared driveways, common across the newer developments, add one wrinkle: the parking position needs to be settled before the cable route is designed, and sometimes the conduit route matters more than the distance.
Mississauga also has a lot of electrically heated townhouse and condo-townhouse stock from the 1970s and 1980s. If your heat is electric, the load calculation is a genuinely different exercise and a service upgrade is more likely. Worth flagging to us early.
Your utility and your paperwork
Mississauga is served by Alectra Utilities, which handles the service application if a panel or service upgrade is required, including the disconnect and reconnect. Alectra also serves Brampton, Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill, so our contractors work with the same processes across most of our footprint.
Every install requires a notification of work filed with the Electrical Safety Authority before starting, and produces an ESA Certificate of Acceptance on completion. We coordinate both; the certificate is yours to keep for insurance and eventual resale.
On financing, we will be straight with you: the Toronto property-tax-repaid loan program does not extend to Mississauga, and Peel's regional residential energy program is still in development rather than open to applications. There is currently no Mississauga municipal financing for this. See ways to pay for what that leaves — and note that for Mississauga homeowners the money is saved on the scoping, by not upgrading a service that did not need upgrading.

Common questions
Does Mississauga have a rebate or a loan program for chargers?
No. Ontario has no provincial charger rebate, there is no federal one for home chargers, and Mississauga has no municipal financing program open today. Toronto's HELP program is City of Toronto only. We would rather tell you that than have you spend an evening searching for it.
I am in a 1960s Port Credit house. What should I expect?
Expect a proper look before a price. Older lakeshore homes are where panel age, service capacity, and cable routing all actually matter, and where quotes given sight-unseen tend to move. Often the answer is still a straightforward install — but it should be established, not assumed.
My townhouse has a shared driveway. Can I still get a charger?
Usually yes, provided your parking space is clearly yours and the cable route does not cross property you do not control. If the driveway is genuinely mutual or the parking is unassigned, it becomes a different conversation and we will tell you early rather than late.
Do you charge more because I am further from Toronto?
No. Our pricing follows the work — panel, route, and whether a service upgrade is needed — not the postal code.
About this page. Oryn coordinates home EV charger installations across the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, Niagara and elsewhere in Ontario. The electrical work is performed and certified by independent, ECRA/ESA-licensed electrical contractors — Oryn is not itself an electrical contractor. Prices described here are general market ranges for orientation only, not a quote, and not an offer. Your own price depends on your home and is confirmed in writing before any work starts. The charger installation — the wiring from your panel to the charger, and the charger itself — is quoted as a fixed price. Electrical panel or service work, where it is needed, is quoted separately as an estimate with a stated ceiling that you approve before anything begins.
