1. Who these terms are between
This website is operated by Oryn Energy Ltd. ("Oryn", "we", "us"). By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here, dated at the foot of this page.
2. What Oryn does — and does not do
Oryn coordinates home EV charger installations. Oryn is not an electrical contractor.
This matters and we would rather over-explain it than have you misunderstand:
- The electrical work is performed and certified by independent, ECRA/ESA-licensed electrical contractors. They are separate businesses, not our employees.
- We scope the job, provide a price, match you with a suitable licensed contractor, and coordinate scheduling and the ESA paperwork.
- A referring car dealership does not perform, price, supervise, warrant or stand behind the electrical work. If you came to us through a dealership, they made an introduction. That is the whole of their involvement.
3. The information on this site is general
Our guides — including what installations cost, whether a panel upgrade is needed, and how financing works — are written to be genuinely useful. They are still general information about a category, not advice about your home.
Specifically:
- Nothing on this site is a quote or an offer. Price ranges we mention are observations about the market, published to help you judge whether a quote you receive is reasonable. Your price depends on your property and is only ever confirmed in a written quote.
- Whether your electrical service can support a charger is a question only a licensed electrical contractor can answer for your home, after a proper load calculation. Nothing here substitutes for that.
- We are not a lender, mortgage broker or financial advisor. Where we describe a municipal financing programme, we are describing someone else's programme. We receive nothing from it, we do not administer it, and we cannot tell you whether you will qualify. Its published terms change; confirm them with the programme before relying on them.
- Nothing here is legal, tax or financial advice.
We take reasonable care to keep this site accurate and current, and we date our pages so you can see how fresh they are. We do not promise it is free of errors or that a programme, rule or price we describe has not changed since we wrote it.
4. Quotes and how a job actually starts
Submitting the form does not create a contract and does not oblige you to anything.
What happens is: we review what you have told us, usually ask for a photograph of your electrical panel and where you park, and then provide a written quote. A job only begins once you have accepted a written quote and any accompanying agreement. That agreement — not this website — governs the work, the price, cancellation, and your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
If we cannot serve your address or your project is not a good fit, we will tell you.
5. Acceptable use
Please do not use this site to break the law, submit anyone else's personal information without their consent, send false or misleading enquiries, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, or scrape, copy or republish substantial parts of it commercially.
The form is for genuine enquiries. Automated submissions are filtered and discarded.
6. Our content
The text, design, graphics, logos and the ORYN name and mark on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may quote a short passage with attribution and a link. You may not reproduce our guides wholesale, republish them, or use our name or logo to suggest an association or endorsement that does not exist.
7. Links to other sites
We link to third parties — municipal programmes, the Electrical Safety Authority, utilities, government pages — because their information is useful and better read at source. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or accuracy, and a link is not an endorsement.
8. Availability
We do not promise this website will be available uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website — including indirect or consequential loss, and including any decision you make on the basis of general information published here.
Two things this clause deliberately does not do:
- It does not limit liability for the installation itself. Responsibility for the work is dealt with in the written agreement for that work, and by the licensed contractor's own obligations.
- It does not exclude anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any right you have under Ontario consumer protection law. Nothing in these terms takes away a statutory right you have as a consumer.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, though this does not deprive you of the protection of consumer-protection rules available where you live.

About this page. Oryn coordinates home EV charger installations across the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton, Niagara and elsewhere in Ontario. The electrical work is performed and certified by independent, ECRA/ESA-licensed electrical contractors — Oryn is not itself an electrical contractor. Prices described here are general market ranges for orientation only, not a quote, and not an offer. Your own price depends on your home and is confirmed in writing before any work starts. The charger installation — the wiring from your panel to the charger, and the charger itself — is quoted as a fixed price. Electrical panel or service work, where it is needed, is quoted separately as an estimate with a stated ceiling that you approve before anything begins.
